Precise and aesthetic drilling of sheet metal parts with CNC milling machine - video

In the new sheet metal fabrication video we present our latest purchase, a CNC milling machine. The serial-drilling of steel sheet metal parts was filmed. Fast, precise and aesthetic!

In the film we can see a small part of a serial machining work: M5 threaded holes and 16,4 mm diam sinked holes are drilled into a 4 mm thick steel sheet metal part. Raw material is S235.

On the sheet metal part the following operations are carried out:
  • drilling threaded holes
  • drilling diam 4,65 mm core hole
  • M5 hole thread forming
  • drilling diam 8,5 mm-es holes
  • preparing diam 16,4 mm sinkings on diam 8 mm holes

From the above there are two operational steps in the film from an unusual perspective, with 1,5 x acceleration.

The holes are prepared with our newest sheet metal fabrication machine, a NCT EmR-1200D type CNC machining centre. With the help of this machine the bigger sinkings can be prepared much more precisely then with manual drilling. The sheet metal parts are fixed onto a vacuum-table. An additional advanctage is that due to the fast tool changes 1,8 min. per item can be achieved.

To mee the 2000 pcs monthly demand it is much more cost effective with the help of our CNC machine. Compared to the previous manual work there is less human input necessary for one part. Quality is also a major step forward with the new machine. Big surface sinkings are very aesthetic with this solution. A significantly higher level can be achieved regarding size accuracy and appearance by using this machine for drilling sheet metal fabricated parts then using manual drilling.
