We filmed an interesting bending project we came across recently: the bending of a securing sheet metal part.
The raw material of the part is steel 1.4404 with a sheet thickness of 1 mm.
Due to the unusual shape of the part, during bending the collision can only be solved only by an ingenious solution, putting the pieces into a 7-piece block. This solution eliminates the bending inaccuracies that would occure during the one-off bending.
The total of 42 bendings on the seven components can be realized with 18 bendings in this case. At this volume, this method is even more economical than the production of a costly press tool and its application. With the ingenious solution 1 person can manufacture the requested approx. 3000 pcs in the course of 10 to 12 hours.
