At Melior, we are constantly looking for opportunities to reduce the fossil fuel energy consumption of our production plant, thus reducing our energy expenses and achieving more cost-effective production. One example is the expansion of our sheet metal fabrication hall. During the planning process, we designed and implemented an energy-saving heating and cooling system, using renewable energy or waste heat from industrial production processes. Energy saving was also in focus during the setting up of our powder coating plant and the placement of its environmentally friendly oven.
In addition to energy saving, environmental protection has a similar weight when planning our technological investments. We have now managed to significantly increase the proportion of renewable energy usage by utilizing solar energy, which is one of the most significant sources of renewable energy. We recently installed our solar panel system to power the production process of sheet metal parts at our Biatorbágy plant. With this step, we reduce not only our dependence on fossil fuels but also the emission of nitrogen and carbon dioxide, which are harmful to the environment.
The solar system has the following technical data:
- 246 pcs of 450Wp solar panel module
- 176 pcs of 400Wp solar panel module
- total solar power of 181 kWp
- total inverter power of 150 kW
- system without feeding back to the electrical network, the generated energy is used immediately (except weekends, on these days the system automatically switches off)
By installing solar panels, we took another green step towards a more livable future.
