A couple of weeks ago one of the engineers of the M1RA, Dániel Boriszov, contacted us again for laser cutting of sheet metal parts in their racing cars. For more information on the previous request, see Sheet metal part from Melior in M1RA racing car. This time too we were happy to fulfill the order.
Laser cut sheet metal parts manufactured for M1RA were made of metal sheets of different thickness (1mm to 10mm thick) made of cold rolled steel (DC01), unalloyed steel (S235JR + N) and stainless steel (1.4301). The attached photographs illustrate exactly where the parts are built into the car.

The sheet metal part which can be seen on the right with the red circle is screwed in the location of the racing car's wheels. The aim is that in order to precisely align the chassis we use a rigid sole instead of a deformable tire. The function of the part fabricated by Melior is that the height of the rigid body exactly matches the radius of the tire it replaces.
The sheet metal part on the left helps easily attach the frame to the car which enables us to measure the convergence and divergence of the wheels. We have chosen laser cutting because of the fast and accurate production, " - Daniel, the team engineer told us.
The M1RA team, founded by the well-known Hungarian racing driver, Norbert Michelisz, in March 2017, started last year in the TCR International Touring Car Championship, of which it became the team champion. This year, M1RA participated in the successor to the series, TCR Europe Cup. In addition, M1RA introduces itself to the world's most prestigious car racing championship; enters with a free card at WTCR's Hungarian etap in Hungaroring. The M1RA's Hyundai i30 N TCR racing car will be driven by the team's young driver, Daniel Dániel.
