For every company, it's important that the workplace is not just a place where employees earn their living, but also a community. In this spirit, we organized our Family Day on August 29th 2023, where we invited the close families of our employees to better understand the place and the people with whom their family member spends most of their day.
On this day, our colleagues arrived at work not alone this tiime, but with their partners and children. We started the event with a joint breakfast; the usual fresh and warm scones quickly disappeared. After the managing director's welcome and the safety officer's briefing, the visitors set out in four groups for a tour to get to know the different manufacturing activities in the sheet metal processing workshop. With designated leaders at the front, the groups of guests explored every nook and cranny of the company. At various stations—such as laser cutting, bending, grinding, MEO, warehouse, technical preparation, and others—there was an opportunity to peek into the processes that make the day-to-day operations of a sheet metal processing company exciting. This was an excellent opportunity for family members to better understand the complex and interesting processes that take place daily in the company. Everyone, from preschoolers to adults, received age-appropriate, playful, interesting, or even more serious professional information. The little ones even got to try out a welding helmet.
The program concluded with a joint pizza lunch. Although everyone was a bit tired by the end of the day, nobody regretted participating in this event due to the experienc and new knowledge gained. The morning enthusiasm gave way to a pleasant fatigue and a feeling of satisfaction by lunchtime.
The Family Day was clearly a success. Not only because relatives got to know their family member's workplace better, but also because this day contributed to building the corporate community, strengthened the sense of belonging, and provided an opportunity for employees to show their human side in addition to their work.
Moreover, after this, there can be no question in the minds of the visiting children as to: "Where do Mom or Dad work, and what do they do all day?"
